Explore what the world has to offer by taking a trip to somewhere different. Traveling has a host of benefits ranging from more creativity to stress relief, so plan well, pack up your bags, and head out for the adventure of a lifetime! In this week’s Wildwood Park Apartments Blog, we’ll share with you some places to consider visiting during the summer instead of staying in your Arlington, VA apartment!

Hawaii

Though you’re not leaving the United States, Hawaii is a perfect summer destination. Usually associated with beautiful beaches and warm weather, the islands hold a great mixture of cultures and peoples. With beautiful weather and friendly people, Hawaii offers an island paradise for visitors and locals alike. Regardless of which island you wish to visit, you can enjoy the beaches, hikes, and delicious foods available! The island of Oahu is the most popular spot for first time visitors, with attractions like Shark’s Cove, Waimea Bay, Waikiki Beach, and the Polynesian Cultural Center.

Australia

There are many sights to visit, like the Great Barrier Reef, Uluru, and the many beautiful beaches that Australia has to offer. Dive into the crystal clear waters, visit the kangaroo island, or even go skiing!

Japan

Do you like anime or sushi? If you do, Japan is a good place to visit. Known for their technological advancements and their love for all things anime, Japan is filled with many different historical sights, temples, and beautiful scenery. Take some time to visit an onsen (hot spring or bathhouse) and to sample delicious Japanese cuisine and take in the deep, rich culture that’s found in Japan.

As you travel, remember to keep in mind the culture and lifestyles of the people living at your travel destination. People can live drastically different lives and hold different things sacred than you do. Do your research beforehand to ensure that your actions won’t disrespect the locals. Keep in mind places that you aren’t allowed to photograph, gestures that may be considered rude, and words that may offend. Have you ever visited these places?
