The warm weather invites the possibilities of hosting barbecues, inviting friends over, and having fun. On this week’s Wildwood Park Apartments Blog, we share some tips for organizing a fun barbecue that you can host. Arlington, VA has many parks with charcoal grills for you to choose from for your party.
Be Prepared
Ensure that your guests have enough utensils, plates, cups, and napkins before they even arrive at the party. Have a checklist of the crucial items you need and, as you purchase those items, keep them all in an easy to remember place so you don’t misplace anything. Always remember to bring extra trash bags so that clean up is quick and easy. Be kind and courteous to the people that will use the grills after you.
Make it a Potluck
Relieve yourself of some stress by making your barbecue a potluck. If you have a theme, inform your guests of the theme and invite them to bring a dish that matches that theme. If they don’t bring a themed dish, don’t fret, it’s just a barbecue. Keep an accurate tally of the number of people who have signed up to come, and keep your guests informed so they know how much of their dish they need to make in order to provide for all the guests. Provide the main dishes yourself and invite others, if they have a preference, to provide their own meat in addition to what you will provide.
Entertainment
A crucial part of every barbecue is the entertainment. Bring a bluetooth speaker to play music while the food is being cooked, this allows your guests to sing along, dance, or bob their head to music while they wait. You can also prepare games like cornhole, limbo, and spikeball to keep people entertained as the food cooks. If all else fails, talking and striking up conversation is a good form of entertainment. Reminiscing and joking about the past is a great way to catch up with guests and friends you haven’t seen for a while.
Summer is a great time to enjoy the weather and spend time with friends. Follow these tips and you’re sure to have a great barbecue. Do you have any tips on how to host a great barbecue? If so, leave a comment below! Thanks for reading, and happy grilling!
